Mock Newbery Club

Fifth and Sixth graders join with Fourth graders to read over 40 books in our  Mock Newbery Club. Since early October, they have been reading and meeting to discuss potential Newbery winners. In November, they hope to narrow the list.  Middle Schoolers and Lower Schoolers have been meeting independently. But in early January, the club members will hold a joint meeting to make their final selection.

Some titles being considered:
The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly

 Peace, Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson

The Season of Gifts  by Richard Peck

New Middle School Reading Nook!

What's the hottest spot in the school this year? The new Middle School Reading Nook in the library, of course. Middle Schoolers have been crowding into this special space reserved for them, where they can read or do homework in comfort. The Reading Nook is furnished with comfortable floor seats, chairs and a colorful carpet. Students can choose from a specially selected collection of books and magazines.
